Ruin Gardens is a surreal 3D environment inspired by travels through Southeast Asia, where intricate architecture, ancient ruins, and majestic temples left a profound impression. By combining realistic architectural details with imaginative floating elements and vibrant overgrowth, the scene captures both the region’s historic essence and the unstoppable force of nature’s reclamation. Modelled in Blender and colour-graded in Photoshop, Ruin Gardens evokes a sense of mysticism and forgotten beauty, an immersive digital homage to Southeast Asia’s rich cultural heritage.
RESULTS
The final 3D environment harmoniously merges traditional Southeast Asian design motifs with immersive storytelling. Detailed stone carvings, lush vegetation, and vibrant yellow foliage bring depth and life to the scene, while floating architectural elements lend an otherworldly touch. Thoughtful lighting and composition emphasise both serenity and grandeur, drawing viewers into a space that feels ancient yet ethereal. Ultimately, Ruin Gardens captures the spirit of Southeast Asia’s cultural heritage while offering a distinctive, artistic interpretation.
